FICS Marks Two Decades of Successful Annual Users' Conferences

DALLAS, May 3, 2006 – Financial Industry Computer Systems, Inc. (FICS), a mortgage technology specialist that provides in-house residential origination and servicing technology and commercial servicing technology to the mortgage industry, held its Twentieth Annual Users' Conference on April 5 - 7 at the Embassy Suites Hotel Dallas-Frisco in Frisco , Texas .

This year, approximately 310 persons participated in the educational sessions, open forum and special interest group meetings. The event provided users of FICS' technology solutions including, Commercial Servicer , Loan Producer , Mortgage Servicer, Mortgage Accountant , Commercial Account and Loan Accountant and EUREKA: Reporter, with valuable tools and practical demonstrations on how they can achieve the optimum return on investment from these systems.

“I always come away from the FICS Users' Conference with information that helps me do my job better,” said Nancy Myers, director of Loan Servicing, Kentucky Housing Corporation. “I've learned how to use the system more efficiently and discovered new ways to complete a process. The conference also offers opportunities for attendees to learn from others. Through friendships I've developed at the conference over the years with both FICS staff and other users, I have learned how others may handle a problem. To me, the conference is yet another way FICS demonstrates its responsiveness to customers' needs. Conference attendees are invited to make requests for changes and enhancements, which are later discussed and voted on. It's process improvement in action!”

Dawn Gibbs, president and CEO of FICS, presented her traditional opening remarks on Wednesday, April 5th . During her speech, she discussed the continued efforts of FICS, the continued need for superior customer service, FICS' vision for the company, and the evolution of the mortgage technology industry.

In her speech Gibbs stated, “Technological evolution is an inevitability, but the objective of this evolution must result in tangible benefits to the consumer, not simply act as a method to demonstrate technical know-how with a goal of improving the bottom line through automation. Successful companies must always consider their customers' interest as the primary driver behind technological evolution.”

FICS has always valued its annual users' conference as a premier event and opportunity to spend valuable time with its customers – time that translates directly into system enhancements and innovations that directly impact users' business.

“I truly believe the reason for our achievement is your continued participation at these conferences, Gibbs said in her opening remarks. “It is through these conferences that new ideas, functionality, and processes are uncovered or substantiated. Software systems aren't developed haphazardly. Teams of people are required to gather ideas, research options, and constantly streamline processes for optimal performance.”

“For 14 years I have been attending the FICS Users' Conference and I have found each one to be very informative and educational,” said Irma Aguilar, vice president, Loan Administration, Rocky Mountain Mortgage Co. “I am continually learning new ways to make the system work for me and the FICS staff is always available to answer questions and work with you on an individual basis.”

“I have attended the FICS Annual Users' Conference for many years now and have found each one to be very informative and worthwhile,” said Robb Barr, assistant director, Asset Management & Loan Servicing for Kentucky Housing Corporation. “The FICS staff is always willing to take the time to answer questions, not only during sessions, but also during breaks when you may need a little extra time to address questions effectively. “ Through the years Barr has been a participant in both residential and commercial mortgage servicer sessions.

“The annual user's conference offers our customers a chance to catch up on the recent advances we have made with our technology and to network with other FICS users,” said Dawn Gibbs, president and CEO of FICS. “With the ever changing mortgage industry, it is essential that mortgage professionals understand the best strategies to utilize the technology that they have in place in order to realize a competitive advantage. Our conference is designed to enable users to exchange ideas and learn more about the most effective and profitable ways to use our technology.”

Next year's Annual FICS Users' Conference will be held April 4 - 6 at the Renaissance Richardson-Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
